Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Quality Systems Specialist to support the Fabrication Core Quality Team based out of Auburn, Washington.
We are seeking a skilled Quality Systems Specialist (QSS) to join our team. This role will be pivotal in managing the lifecycle of Speak Up reports from Open–Triage through Fact Finding, Action/Mitigation, and Closure. The QSS will also ensure confidentiality, apply Just Culture principles, drives stakeholder decisions, and provides leadership visibility to reduce safety, quality, and compliance risk. This position integrates QSS responsibilities to ensure early quality involvement, system-level assurance, and supplier/process oversight are embedded in the Speak Up lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Protect reporter confidentiality at all times; use non-identifying language and limit access to need-to-know information.
Act as an ambassador for the Speak Up process and ensure its consistent application across the business unit.
Attend business-unit triage meetings and accept routing of reports to the assigned SMS Board.
Project manage the lifecycle of assigned ASRs beginning in Open–Triage: assign leaders/analysts, monitor progress, and drive to closure.
Ensure assigned leaders identify and confirm a Local/Lead Analyst (investigator) and that the analyst has required confidentiality training and signed agreements.
Create and assign Assigned Leader and Lead Investigator actions in ASATS; ensure analysts provide weekly updates and adjust ECDs when required.
Provide SMS Board leadership visibility via Tableau and ensure integration between the Report Manager and Local Analyst.
Review and critically evaluate fact-finding reports and proposed dispositions; ensure completeness and that corrective actions fully address the reported concern.
Convene or participate in stakeholder review to obtain concurrence on final disposition within fact-finding timeframes; document Assigned Leader approval.
Prepare ASR closure package; validate closure criteria are met and monitor the record until formal closure.
Monitor implementation of mitigation actions (Manage Mitigation Plan / Closed-Loop Process / Functional Partner referrals) and verify outcomes (published process revisions, training, SAT closeouts, ELR/IP/SOI updates, IT/Maximo tickets).
Support SMS Hazard determinations and coordinate with SMS Board to update SMS fields and link SRT numbers when hazards are identified.
Escalate and coordinate with Business Unit Portfolio Manager and Ethics when potential misconduct or joint investigation triggers are identified.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience in Analytical Skills: root cause analysis, data synthesis, report writing.
3+ years of experience in Critical Thinking: evaluate evidence, detect logical fallacies, challenge assumptions.
3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance: develop quality directives, conduct audits, and determine material dispositions.
3+ years of experience in Business Acumen: understand organizational policies, processes and stakeholders.
3+ years of experience in Planning & Organization: manage deadlines, ECDs, and interdependent actions.
3+ years of experience in Confidentiality & Ethical Judgment: handle sensitive information and identify potential misconduct requiring Ethics engagement.
3+ years of experience in managing projects through the full project lifecycle
3+ years of experience developing presentations for leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or another field related to SOW
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working in safety, quality, compliance, or investigative roles in aerospace/manufacturing or closely related regulated industry
Demonstrated project management and stakeholder facilitation skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills: ability to collect, organize, synthesize and draw conclusions from multiple data sources and produce measurable corrective/preventive actions
Knowledge of safety management systems, quality management systems (ISO/AS standards), and closed-loop risk processes (SRM, SRT) desirable
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and apply Just Culture principles
Familiarity with ASATS (or similar safety case management systems) and Tableau or equivalent reporting dashboards.
Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to document sensitive communications without identifiable information
Project Management or Human Resources certifications related to statement of work i.e. PMP, SHRM, PHR

Summary Pay Range: $94,350 - $127,650
