The WestJet Vacations Revenue Management team manages day to day and long-term strategic revenue optimization for WestJet Vacations. What is Revenue Management? It isn’t accounting and it exists in many industries. It is why roses cost more on Valentine’s Day than the week after, why hotel rooms in Las Vegas cost more on the weekend than mid-week, and why sometimes there are sales for vacation packages many months in advance. Using forecasts of future demand and continual re-optimization of package revenue, the WestJet Vacations Revenue Management team balances guest promise with pricing optimization. Revenue Management is a blend of art and science that requires the combination of strategic thinking and business acumen and an acute ability to make high impact decisions.

Key deliverables include:

  • Manage vacation package pricing to maximize revenue for WestJet and WestJet Vacations by analyzing performance, identifying opportunities, managing margins, loading pricing rules and gathering market intelligence.
  • Provide recommendations for optimal access to air inventory and pricing to maximize vacation package revenue on each flight
  • Blend strategic analysis, business intuition, creative thinking, and project leadership to work in cross-functional work groups
  • Develop and effectively communicate market/pricing strategies to leadership team and teammates
  • Optimize competitive positioning to maximize vacation package sales
  • Provide analysis and reporting to various organizational departments
  • Monitor KPI performance, proactively adjusting and communicating strategies needed to meet goals
  • Identify the need for and coordinate promotional offers to support vacation package sales
  • Recommend improvements to processes and reports

Experience and qualifications:

  • University or College education in business, economics, marketing, statistics, or mathematics is preferred
