Network Planning & scheduling at IndiGo is tasked to design, maintain. Implement and continuously optimize the most exciting and expansive air transportation network in India. The network planning group includes specialists at schedule design and management as well as analytical expertise with a high level of exposure and understanding for airline economics and its key drivers as part of this team, you will interact with the best aviation minds in the country, contribute to solving unique problems while building the nation’s air infrastructure and enhancing your career along the way.

The Role: The selected candidate will join a group of high-quality experts in the field of schedule management, schedule design and implementation, in an area that is mission critical for the success of the airline as a whole.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor/master’s in Math/Statistic/OperationsResearch/Economics/Business/Engineering/ aviation

• Preferred Experience: 02-03 years’ experience in airline Network Planning & Scheduling, Revenue Management or any airline analytical field.

What you’ll do

• Schedule Management & Optimization
  • Use Sabre’s Air Vision planning and scheduling software to ensure that the planned network does not exceed the total available aircraft. Regularly adjust the network schedules, equipment, aircraft flying patterns etc., to meet commercial and operational requirements such as, slot adherence, aircraft parking bay compliance, local airport manpower and optimal sub fleet utilization, accommodation of airport closures, maximizing crew efficiency & aircraft utilization, pattern of service, profitability, and strategic considerations.
  • Monitor schedule performance and industry trends in conjunction with strategic groups and find solutions for spanet adjustments/additions or schedule changes to improve the existing network. In parallel, analyze and implement continuous improvement to achieve incremental crew productivity, improve maintenance feasibility and network connectivity.

• Schedule planning & design:
  • Monitor industry trends and leverage internal and external traffic, profitability, demand data and come up with plans to improve & optimize the existing network.
  • Participate in seasonal schedule design process to develop an operationally optimized, optimally utilized network that maximizes commercial feasibility.

• Execution: Collaborate with several internal teams such as crew planning, engineering, revenue management, Airport operations, spaneting etc., to operationalize schedules/new routes/changes/cancellations etc.

• Publication & Distribution:

• • Publish & distribute the planned schedule with RMS (revenue management system), and key stake holders within agreed timelines.
  • Make sure the set schedule publishing guidelines are adhered to.
  • Disseminate the plan to all down-line departments.

• Work on ad-hoc projects as per requirement.

• Ability to multi-task on several scheduling projects and issues simultaneously.

• Advanced digital literacy: Experience in using Sabre Air Vision Planning and scheduling tool or an equivalent planning/scheduling software.

• In-depth understanding of airline scheduling, crew planning requirements, maintenance, and airport operations constraints.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence & Data Visualization tools.
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL’s will be an added advantage.
• Ability to be discrete and handle confidential plans and data.
• Intermediate to advanced user of MS Excel.
• Extremely detail oriented.
