Overview of role:

The Senior Analyst, Product Steering, reporting to the Director, Product Management is a full-time role responsible for managing and executing the Product Management portfolio governance and processes, driving excellence and velocity in our process and standards in managing strategic and business initiatives that impact all Digital Products, Design and Delivery teams. The Senior Analyst, Product Steering is responsible for leading and organizing forums and meetings that manage our business priorities and drive the right business outcomes in a pragmatic and efficient way.

Key deliverables include:

  • Lead and organize the digital product management governance and cadence (annual business reviews, quarterly business reviews, monthly meetings).
  • Lead and organize the processes that manage our business priorities and business requests and projects that require solutions and work, time, effort from our Digital teams.
  • Manage the overall governance process, aiming to keep these processes lean, pragmatic, effective and efficient. Looking for ways to continuously improve the governance and processes.
  • Manage requests from the business or other stakeholders (“intake”) and ensure the request is ready for assessment, including supporting the scooping team with work estimates. Analyze if there are any requirements outstanding or missing information at each step of the product management intake process.
  • Support the Product Owners to ensure the business requests highlight the business problem, business outcomes, business targets and business objectives to enable decision on priority of that request. Working with the business stakeholders to provide any missing information.
  • Work transparently on progressing business requirements, project work and product enhancements related to work within the Digital teams, communicating and collaborating closely with the various business stakeholders and leaders, the Portfolio Product Managers on their product roadmaps and business stakeholders on their business strategies and business outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships across the business and throughout the digital team, work collaboratively with Digital team members, IT, business unit stakeholders, and the project management office to ensure scope, budget and resources are tracked and shared.
  • Builds and manages reports, data, dashboards to manage the digital product portfolio resources, ensuring resource capacity is managed and understood.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of 6-8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Certificate in Product Management is valued.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree (Technical/Business/Scientific).
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills with experience in collaborating with all levels of an organization.
  • Has proven experience with product management frameworks and Scrum or equivalent Agile methodology.
  • Is curious, thoughtful, organized with great priority and time management skills.
  • Is a critical thinker, problem solver, detail oriented and can analyze data.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently and cross functionally.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works effectively, demonstrates flexibility and sets priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is a highly motivated and collaborative individual.
