The Position:
As part of the Hardware Engineering Operations CAD Admin Team, you will be a part of a small, accomplished team of experts who contribute to applications of product lifecycle data management, supporting all administration of CAD software (Preferably experience with Siemens/Mentor Graphics,), and related applications across all phases of launch, design, development, testing and operations. Responsible for the implementation and improvement of the software across all Hardware Engineering department. Provides training on tools and mentoring to engineers and other CAD users.

General CAD Administration:
  •   Responsible for administration of CAD and PDM for configurations, software upgrades, environments, and licenses.
  •   Investigate, develop, and implement methods to integrate the strengths of CAD software and PDM software into engineering, design, certification, and planning processes.
  •   Interact and work alongside the IT team to identify, streamline, design and support CAD environments and data management.
  •   Interact and support integrations and data sharing amongst multiple engineering disciplines and departments.
  •   Automate processes whether standardized through workflows, templates, and other means.
  •   Ability to train and mentor CAD users. Must be able to document and communicate training materials and work instructions. Provide employee training for new versions of software.
  •   Responsible for coordinating computer acquisitions and installation of software.
  •   Responsible for setting up requirements and coordinating with procurement on 3rd party CAD data base (STEP file, MCAD/ECAD and drawing files) through Statement of Work.
  •   Responsible for coordinating and complying with OEMs CAD data requirements.

 CAD Administration:

  • Provide comprehensive training, guidance, and rollout plans to design engineers
  • Identify and implement automation methods and techniques for continuous improvements. 
  • Publish Tips, Techniques, and Best Practices for use of CAD and PDM/PLM Database.
  • Develop and maintain standards and templates for CAD drawings.
  • Work with management on software budget forecasting, Statement of Work & contract reviews, licensing agreements and maintenance.
  • CAD Project management evaluations and upgrades.
  • Work with HWE operations team to automate inputs and processes from multiple existing enterprise-level tools

The salary range of $108,000 – $181,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.

What Were Looking For:

  • BS or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related field. Masters degree a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of CAD Admin experience, with 8 years’ overall CAD design experience.
  • Experience in migrating and implementing new CAD and PDM/PLM software.
  • 5+ year of experience as an administrator 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with strong communication skills to a diverse user base.
  • Working knowledge of CAD license management
  • Working knowledge of CAD software administration and installation 
  • Experience with developing user enhancements for software applications in scope with PLM systems. 
  • Global Drawing Requirement Manual (DRM).
  • Familiar with Product Lifecycle Development Processes and configuration control (revisions, release level, approvals).
  • Experience in the creation and management of CAD standard libraries.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage large scale collaborative projects at any given time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.
  • Experience with Siemens Team Center, NX, Xpedition etc a plus.
  • Experience with developing user enhancements for software applications in scope with PLM systems.
