Senior Specialist Aircraft Reliability

Senior Specialist Aircraft Reliability is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving the technical reliability, Tech D0 and airworthiness of the fleet. This role ensures compliance with Transport Canada requirements and OEM guidance, identifies reliability trends, and develops data-driven solutions to enhance dispatch performance, reduce unscheduled maintenance, and optimize lifecycle costs. This role will work closely with Fleet Chiefs, Tech Support, Aircraft Programs, MCC, and Maintenance Planning to drive both short- and long-term reliability improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for fleet reliability KPIs (Tech D0, Tech Dispatch Reliability, PIREP rates, MTBUR, Alert Levels, Severity Index).
  • Root cause analysis (RCA) of chronic / emerging technical issues, repetitive defects, component defects, NFF (no fault found) components, rogue components.
  • Drive reliability initiatives. Partner with Maintenance Programs, Planning, and Supply Chain to ensure effective implementation of reliability improvements.
  • Work with Fleet Chief(s) to prioritize engineering fixes.
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada CARs and support audit activities and contribute to regulatory submissions/audits.
  • Interface with OEMs on reliability campaigns.
  • Recommend MPD/MRB program escalations, intervals, or task optimization.
  • Participate in MSG-3 reviews, SB/AD evaluation, and In-service experience campaigns.
  • Data analysis & reporting, generate and present monthly reliability reports to Engineering leadership and regulatory authorities.
  • Create budget and business cases to increase fleet reliability and safety.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a TCCA Licensed AME or have a Bachelors degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience in aircraft maintenance, engineering or technical services, with at least 6 years comparable experience in an airline, MRO, or OEM environment.
  • Experience with Boeing 737NG, 737MAX, 787 or Dash 8-Q400 will be an asset
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to lead complex technical projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and vendor management.
  • An individual of highest personal and professional integrity as demonstrated through strong personal values as well as consistent words and actions.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a focus on developing talent within the team.
