Compensation Range: Between $70,000 - $120,000 CDN annually

Essential Functions:

IT Coordination & Enablement

• Serve as the primary operational bridge between IT and DevOps teams.
• Coordinate and track IT service requests across multiple IT subgroups (e.g., network, storage, virtualization, identity management).
• Act as a liaison between DevOps and IT operations, translating deployment and infrastructure requirements into clear, actionable IT initiatives.
• Ensure that DevOps activities comply with enterprise security, governance, and change management policies.
• Act as an interpreter between technical DevOps needs and IT compliance constraints — able to explain IT governance and policies clearly to DevOps teams.

Systems Administration & Tool Management

• Administer and configure Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket):

1. Create and manage projects, repositories, workflows, and permission schemes.
2. Configure integrations, automation rules, and access controls.
3. Manage users, groups, and permissions according to IT policies.

• Support and maintain servers and infrastructure, including availability, backups, and performance monitoring.
• Provide day‑to‑day Windows and Linux system administration, including patching and troubleshooting.
• Perform and support backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities using tools like Commvault and Veeam.
• Use monitoring and alerting tools to help identify and resolve issues.
• Use basic PowerShell and/or Bash scripting to automate tasks and assist with troubleshooting.
• Apply basic security best practices to systems and servers.
• Manage and support enterprise‑level storage.
• Follow incident and change management processes when resolving issues or making updates.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).

• Some experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).
• Basic knowledge of tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.
• Ability to read and understand IaC/CaC scripts and help troubleshoot issues.
• Experience modifying or creating IaC/CaC scripts is a plus.
• Able to work with DevOps teams to ensure automation fits within IT infrastructure and compliance standards.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

• Spot common DevOps infrastructure requests and suggest simpler IT processes.
• Help with automation and self‑service tools for DevOps, such as standard VM templates or shared pipeline infrastructure.
• Document processes, roles, and hand‑offs between IT and DevOps teams.
• Work with security, compliance, and architecture teams to make sure new systems meet company standards.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in IT Systems Administration, Infrastructure Operations, or DevOps support within a large enterprise.
• General experience with on‑prem virtualization platforms (Nutanix, VMware or similar).
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as firewalls, VLANs, DNS, and routing.
• Familiarity with identity and access management tools (Active Directory, LDAP, SSO).
• Experience administering Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
• Exposure to Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).
• Ability to clearly explain IT governance and security requirements to technical teams.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
• Bilingual candidate preferred.
