The ServiceNow Architect is responsible for the health and ongoing maintenance of the ServiceNow platform. This includes platform maintenance/upgrades, and overseeing the design and implementation of all small enhancements and project-related transformational changes to the platform. This includes overseeing the work performed by internal ServiceNow CSAs, citizen developers, and 3rd-party System Integrators.

Sierra Nevada Corporation’s ServiceNow Platform team designs, implements, and supports services and offerings in the IT Service Management, ITOM, and Human Resources Management spaces as well as supports shared development spaces in the GRC and Security Operation’s spaces.
This ServiceNow Architect a technical subject management expert responsible for the architecture, design, development, administration, and rollout of solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

The ServiceNow Architect will work with internal customers, Scrum Masters, Technical Product Managers, ServiceNow developers, and 3rd parties to design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements, fixes, integrations, and configuration changes needed to support the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health, safety, and performance of the platform by ensure all changes to all modules within the platform are designed within CSDM best practices.

  • Oversee all design work within the platform related to project work performed internally and by 3rd parties, internal small enhancements, and citizen development activities.

  • Perform development and configuration of a variety of areas including, but not limited to Service Portal, Service Catalog, Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Release / SDLC, ITAM / Asset Management, ITOM / CMDB Discovery & Service Mapping, Human Resource (HR) Management, GRC/IRM, Vulnerability Response/Management, Customer Service Management (CSM) external portals, Mobility and Reporting.

  • Provide design support and development to, but not limited to screen tailoring, workflow administration, flow administration, report setup, data imports, integration, scripting, third party software integrations, automation, and custom application development.

  • Scope and design solutions and/or integrations for documented business and technical needs, with an emphasis on / preference for minimizing customization.

  • Design technical solutions to address complex requirements, evaluate alternate solutions, identify the best option, and implement the solution. Design, develop and configure workflows, forms, scripts, and underlying logic using Scrum / Agile methodologies.

  • Maintain our SDLC processes for unit, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

  • Perform evaluation and rollout of new applications and solutions in ServiceNow both proactively and as requested.

  • Design, build, rollout and support the technical framework to support a ‘Citizen Development’  shared development strategy.

  • Oversee all platform version and patch upgrades along with related clone downs.

Must Haves:

  • Computer Science or related field bachelor’s degree.

  • Six (6) or more years of relevant experience.

    • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience.

    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.

  • Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA).

  • Wide and deep understanding of the ServiceNow platform.

  • Experience implementing ITSM processes including Service Portals and Service Catalog items.

  • Experience in at least 2 additional ServiceNow modules (See Preferred below).

  • Experience using standard ‘Requirements Gathering’ techniques resulting in high customer satisfaction for the services that are eventually delivered.

  • Experience implementing multiple ITSM services including Service Catalog work related to form design, approvals, and workflows.

  • Good understanding of Common Services Data Model (CSDM) good practices and experience implementing CSDM-aligned ServiceNow solutions.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication and documentation skills.

  • Subject matter expertise and the ability to lead, guide and mentor others.

Preferred:

  • Certified ServiceNow Developer or Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist.

  • ITIL v3 and/or v4 Certifications.

  • Experience implementing multiple ServiceNow modules including:

    • IT Asset Management (ITAM), SAM PRO, HAM PRO.

    • IT Operations Management (ITOM), CMDB Discovery, Service Mapping.

    • Human Resources Management (HR).

    • Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) / Integrated Risk Management (IRM).

    • Vulnerability Response / Management (VR / VM).

    • Customer Service Management (CSM).

    • Certificate Management.

    • Generative AI and AIOps service offerings.

  • Relevant software development certifications.

  • Micro Certs or certifications in other platform functionalities.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $104,827.91 - $144,138.38. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
