Responsibilities

The Specialist, DOT performs research and responds to customer complaints received from the Department of Transportation (DOT) to ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Assembles required monthly compilation of all DOT complaints received for Executive review and to identify trends. This position serves as the subject matter expert in DOT regulations and works with different departments throughout the Company to ensure compliance in all areas.

  • Investigates customer complaints submitted to the DOT and respond with articulate and dispositive responses to the customers in a timely manner to provide excellent customer service. 
  • Identifies potential violations of DOT regulations to the attention of impacted departments in order to facilitate a solution. 
  • Offers proactive recommendations for implementation to achieve business results. 
  • Assembles analytics report that identifies trends for Executive review. 
  • Builds and organizes reports of all customer complaints received from the DOT with supporting documentation on a monthly basis. Responds to all DOTs questions or concerns in a timely manner and submit supporting documentation upon their request.
  • Create and conduct audit for all areas impacted throughout the Company by DOT regulations to ensure compliance. Conduct DOT compliance review meetings and report findings to Legal Counsel if required.
  • Update impacted departments and Executive teams on new regulations issued by DOT.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments). 

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience).
  • Less than 1 year of experience. (Compliance, Customer Service, or Guest Care experience preferred.)
  • Frequent standing and walking, prolonged sitting.
  • Written Communication: Expresses facts and ideas in a clear, convincing, and organized manner that is appropriate to the audience.
  • Microsoft Office: Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.DOT Matters: Thorough knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation Regulations related to the Disability rule (Part 382).
  • Company Policies: Thorough knowledge of company policies and understanding of the reasoning behind them.Legal: Basic knowledge of international aviation conventions.
  • No travel required.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
