  • This job is a member of the Safety Management System (SMS) Standards, Publications and Safety Promotions Team within the Safety division.This position will be responsible for providing support to the Manager, SMS Standards,
  • Publications and Safety Promotions and plays a critical part in communicating safety messages and safety promotion activities to all team members across the system. The role also supports the Vice President Safety Systems, Efficiency and Compliance as needed to meet business objectives.

  • Develop and deliver creative and complex messages with engaging content in a clear and concise way for a variety of team members, from frontline team members to executives. 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal departments and corporate communications team to ensure safety messaging is communicated to team members system wide.
  • Manage multiple projects/events simultaneously, meet deadlines and coordinate with various stakeholders. 
  • Develop innovative communication plans including drafting key messaging points, creating multichannel branded content and coordinating distribution across the organization.
  • Analyze data, understand business strategies and translate them into compelling narratives for presentations.
  • Draft and manage internal communications for company intranet and other media channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
All youll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (journalism, communications or marketing) or equivalent experience / training
  •  3-year journalism, communications or marketing experience preferred
  •  Previous experience in Adobe Acrobat DC Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, InDesign, etc.), Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, and Share Point), or other design programs.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master’s degree (preferably in marketing, communications, or journalism)
  • Prior experience in creating board-level presentations or executive communications.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Excellent presentation skills and written / oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional project management skills with experience in working effectively under deadline pressures and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of digital media
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to be organized and make connections across functional areas.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with team members; self-motivated; ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  •  Adaptable to changes and shift in priorities.
  • Ability to travel on business as needed.
