What Will You Be Doing?

The Senior Analyst, Operational Performance, reporting to the Director, Operations Research and Performance will assist with compiling, tracking, monitoring and reporting all key operational performance metrics for the airline. Through operational based critical thinking and in-depth analysis, this individual will arm decision-makers throughout the airline with data, analysis and support.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with compilation and reporting of key operational performance metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Using SQL data warehouse information, create dashboards and automated reporting mechanisms which detail in real time key operational performance metrics, trends and issues.
  • Analyze large data sources, identify trends and issues, and report those issues using data to substantiate the problem.
  • Via the in-depth analyzation of data, identify emerging trends and operations issues, provide in-depth fact-based analysis. Use of utilizing simple 6 Sigma and Lean analytic techniques to identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Database management. Assist with and maintain day-to-day operational performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with Business Intelligence to develop, manage and program SQL data into dashboards which effectively show all aspects of the airlines operation.
  • Investigate root cause of delays, and with an understanding of airline operations, apply/correct appropriate departure delay codes to flights, including Headstart and Start-Up flights.
  • Assist with monthly reporting of operational performance data to the United States Department of Transportation. Assist in preparing the monthly required 14 CFR 234 (on-time performance), mishandled baggage and 14 CFR 250 (denied boarding) reports.
  • Analyze and report operational department specific metrics and balance their importance with the overall operation.
  • Responsible, through the preparation of reports and distribution of information, for reporting operational performance at all levels of the organization, including executive, station managers and supervisors.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of the Frontier Airlines operation.

Qualifications

  • SQL skills and programming knowledge, Database Management, Power B.I., Excel advanced knowledge. Ability to manipulate data, creating functional, interactive dashboards for reporting of performance metrics.
  • Minimum 3 years advanced analytics and data management. Ability to analyze and manage large blocks of data.
  • Minimum 2 years of airline operational experience.
  • Previous management or supervisor experience.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with SQL databases and program interactive reports and dashboards. Ability to work in and with Power B.I., creating interactive reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to manage and interpret large data sets, identifying negative trends through data.
  • Working knowledge of airline operations required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, advanced Excel abilities (forecasting, modeling, array formulas)
  • Experience with outputting and reporting techniques required (reporting of data, trends and issues will be throughout the entire organization)
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accurate and factual reporting performance data through review of previous days operation
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate trends and results of data analysis to all levels of the organization
  • Base understanding of 6 Sigma and Lean analytical methods and principles.
  • Ability to work independently and be self motivated.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across all departments.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to manage confidential and proprietary information
