Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Sr FTZ & Traffic Administrator to join our Material Support and Services Team in Grapevine, TX

In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of the FTZ in compliance with Customs and Border Protection, (CBP), and Foreign Trade Zones Board requirements.  You will work with FTZ Warehouse Managers to organize the workflow within the zone to achieve timely admission of all parts. Other dimensions of the role will be to:

  • Oversee import traffic activities for all Airbus Helicopter facilities keeping management updated of activities and needed improvements.

  • Advise management regarding the movement of all merchandise (inventory and non-inventory) including helicopters to and from AHI.

  • Assume the lead role, under the direction of management, regarding freight forwarder selection, service provider selection, and transportation suppler performance ratings and corrective actions.

Your Challenges:

FTZ Operations:  75

  • Responsible for the operation of the FTZ, including daily movements of parts into and out of the zone using company approved software.  

  • Prepare reports timely as required by CBP and management.  

  • Maintain records and documentation as required by CBP and other regulatory authorities.  

  • Ensure parts are cleared under consumption entries or admitted to the zone timely.  

  • Help to design and implement e214 filing and electronic filing of 7501 for transfers from the zone.  

  • Under Management direction take the lead to develop and implement procedures of the FTZ flow of material to ensure the expeditious handling and transportation of merchandise to and from AHI.

  • Collaborate with Broker(s) to ensure FTZ daily reports are worked to ensure that no errors remain prior to the release of the daily Customs 214 form and manage the movement of all domestic and foreign shipments.

  • Advise and instruct employees in the proper execution of all documentation necessary for the admittance of merchandise into the FTZ zone and the exportation of merchandise from the FTZ zone.

  • Audit and ensure accuracy of FTZ documentation prepared by co-workers.

  • Ensure that the problem shelf is always physically empty of all issues. 

  • Responsible for timely resolution of problems associated with parts on the “Problem Shelf” to ensure timely export under Immediate Transportation Entries or admittance to the FTZ.

  • Responsible for the freight transferred from the FTZ zone as defined within internal and external procedures.

  • Ensure that AHI is not late in filing any admissions or entries due to exceeding the established 14 day limit for admissions and 10 day limit for entries.

  • Ensure that the weekly 3461 estimate is in place.

  • Organize the inbound parts traffic.  

  • Separate parts to be admitted to the FTZ from parts to be entered under consumption entries. 

  • Ensure all inbound shipments are accounted for and all merchandise was either entered into the FTZ or entered through a consumption entry. 

  • Responsible to find resolutions for any discrepancies noted.

  • Provide back-up to the Associate FTZ Administrator 

  • Maintaining relationship with local port and CEE personnel

Inbound Traffic Coordination:  20

  • Responsible for follow-up of any inbound Traffic discrepancy and resolve discrepancies with the buyers, vendors, and Broker.

  • Advise management regarding transportation service provider selection, performance, and corrective action

  • Ensures that all inbound shipments that are customs cleared and delivered on time

Freight Invoice Management:  5

  • Responsible to initiate freight claims with all transportation service providers and ensure claims are successfully closed in a timely manner.

  • Audit freight bills for accuracy.  

  • Follow-up with forwarder, broker, or carrier to resolve differences

Your Boarding Pass:   

  • Possess a Bachelor&39;s degree in a business related field preferred or equivalent related work experience.

  • Minimum of six (6) years related experience.  

  • Knowledge of FTZ software, shipping/export procedures and experience with importing merchandise.  

  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling and import/export documentation.

  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

Preferred Education/Skills:

  • College or customs specific education

  • Knowledge of FTZ operations

  • A general understanding of import documentation and auditing processes

  • SAP experience 

  • Integration point or other FTZ or trade compliance system experience

Physical Requirements:  

  • Onsite or remote:  60 Onsite- The Incumbent can expect to be on call every other weekend, which is compensated separately from base salary.

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. 

  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. 

  • Speaking:  able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. 

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. 

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. 

  • Lifting:  able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. 

  • Pushing / Pulling:  able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. 

  • Sitting:  able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. 

  • Squatting / Kneeling:  able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.

  • Travel:  able to travel independently and at short notice.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents):  able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. 

  • Personal Protective Equipment required:  Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
