Hybrid Role:
This is a hybrid position; you will be required to work at the WestJet Campus in Calgary approximately 3 days / week.
Candidates need to be located within Calgary Metropolitan Region.

Reporting to the Director, Fleet Leasing and Transactions, the Senior Fleet Transactions Specialist will be the primary liaison with Technical Operations groups to ensure proper aircraft lease management by providing oversight of projects related to fleet transactions including financing, redeliveries, and transfers. Manage contractual requirements and minimize additional financial impact arising from key maintenance and/or lease events.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with lessor counterparts as part of the overall leased aircraft portfolio management process
  • Develop and support process of distributing and managing information and reimbursement related to maintenance, aircraft modification and insurance claim activities
  • Strong ability to review and analyze lease contracts and develop system to manage pertinent requirements: reporting requirements, notification thresholds, expiry dates
  • Support negotiation of lease return activities to ensure timely action and adherence to redelivery requirements. Ability to formulate and present responses in an informative manner will directly impact timeline and financial impact to the organization
  • Partner with cross functional team members to facilitate fleet transactions and manage total leased aircraft portfolio
  • Facilitate physical and records inspections for lease obligations and legal title transfers​ in adherence with lease obligations including coordination with technical groups to ensure proper scheduling of aircraft

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business/Finance 
  • 5+ years of training and hands-on experience using TRAX and EFPAC systems to prepare reports and forecasts
  • Strong technical background to analyze and negotiate contractual requirements and resulting financial implications
  • Organized and thorough, with a desire for continuous improvement 
  • Strong sense of ownership, curiosity and ability to think critically
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet tight timelines in an environment with a high volume of activity 
  • Effective team member, willingness to work in a cross-functional organization 
  • Microsoft office proficiency and a keen interest in learning new technology
