Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Aircraft Systems Simulation Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the accurate simulation and integration of aircraft systems into various simulation applications, which encompass a wide range of activities, including but not limited to Monte-Carlo simulations, real-time Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and System-Level simulations, avionics hardware and embedded software development, aircraft system development and certification, ground segment development, performance evaluation, and training.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of advanced simulations for a variety of applications, including complex algorithm development, early requirements validation, embedded software development, HIL/SIL environments, control algorithm validation, and pilot training.

Develop, validate, and deploy advanced simulation capabilities related to aircraft systems.

Collaborate with internal customers to identify simulation system requirements, plan milestones, and deliver critical tools and capabilities to support product development.

Organize, plan, and advance the end-to-end simulation development efforts, particularly in support of long-term autonomous air-taxi ConOps.

Work with agile teams to manage the development backlog and ensure that the needs of internal groups/IPTs are met.

Define and fulfill long-term simulation requirements, including certification aspects of the simulation platform.

Qualifications:

BS degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

5 years of experience simulating aircraft systems, preferably in a real-time simulation environment.

Experience working with ARINC 429 and/or ARINC 664.

Experience with HIL/SIL simulations and test environments.

Experience as an Integration Specialist on Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs).

Familiarity with aircraft avionics, aircraft dynamics, and aircraft operations.

Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.

Strong software architecture design and development skills.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Familiarity with cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, C, or Java.

Prior experience in designing aircraft systems.

Prior experience with ARINC 708, ARINC 615, ARINC 610, MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, or CAN bus.

Experience in developing embedded avionics software.

Knowledge of DO-178, DO-254, or similar certification standards.

Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Design (MBD) tools and methodologies.

Previous experience in the design, development, testing, and certification of Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs).

Familiarity with FAR Part 60 (FAA) or equivalent regulations.

Salary: $132,000 - $155,000 CAD/year
