Primary Function


DSoft Technology is looking for a Senior Data Center Systems Administrator to lead a small team supporting a federal agency with two geographically separated data centers. This is an on-site position in either Reston, VA or Denver, CO, and is contingent upon three-year contract award. The tentative start date is July 2024. Essential Duties
•    Provide comprehensive network, system, and database administration and engineering services.
•    Support all data center hardware and software needs.
•    Perform enterprise-level monitoring, analyze reports and deliver recommendations to the government for improving operations
•    Commission and decommission hardware appliances
•    Work with the team to maintain information security, information assurance, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations 
•    Manage incidents and requests using the government’s ITSM ticketing system
•    Troubleshoot system-related issues within service level agreement thresholds
•    Develop documentation for procedures and technical guides
•    Be accountable for tasks, track time, and keep team members and the project manager informed


Supervisory Responsibilities
You will be the Firm’s representative and subject matter expert for data center operations and will supervise three other staff in addition to being a directly supporting the government client. Work will be directed in collaboration with our contract project manager.


Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 
•    Strong knowledge of maintaining on-premise servers, storage area network  (SAN) arrays, virtual environments, Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Active Directory, Citrix Virtual Apps (XenApp and XenDesktop)
•    Extensive knowledge and experience in configuring, securing, and tuning systems that include Windows,  Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Linux servers
•    Ability to deliver innovative solutions for migrating the enterprise to a private cloud environment
•    Demonstrated experience working both collaboratively and independently.
•    Excellent analytical skills in finding ways to work more efficiently
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills with both teams and clients.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications

•    Minimum of an Associate’s Degree and seven (7) years of related technical experience in supporting data center operations. A Certificate from a technical training institute may be accepted in lieu of degree.
•    Professional certifications will increase your value to the team and your standing as a candidate.
•    Must be a U.S. Citizen.
•    Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
