We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Engineering Controller to join our UK Engineering Planning and Governance Team. Our Client is a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. 

The EP&G team provides a support and control for the execution of work conducted in Engineering as part of the integrated UK and ITA organisation. This role will focus on supporting the UK EP&G team by using data science.

You will be joining a small and dynamic team and full training will be provided with continued support through your employment. Starting to work on basic tasks and projects will lead to a contribution in the development and the implementation of methods, procedures and processes, which will drive the delivery of products and services to our customers.
Working under the guidance and the support of the Engineering Data Operations UK Manager you would understand how your activities contribute to overall business performance and deliver value-added products and services that meet business and Stakeholder needs.

Key Responsibility Areas

You will provide business support in Engineering to the UK and Italy:

  • Administer the transfer of work between Italy, USA, Poland and UK Engineering
  • Create Purchase Order Requisitions for work transfer requirements
  • Create WT booking numbers in SAP
  • Interface between the Data Governance Team in different geographies and the UK technical areas to track the execution of the WT activities and prevent overspends
  • Manage and produce the required reports, proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action to achieve quality and schedule within budget
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Company policies, and processes.
  • Identify and obtain support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the WT project
  • Review and monitor timesheet bookings for Engineering users and deal with supporting the correction of missing timesheets and unapproved entries
  • Check and create the delivery of work
  • Receive and check supplier delivery quantities, coordinate the invoice acceptance with the WT requesting technical area
  • Conduct project reviews and highlighting actions / recommendations to appropriate business area, ensuring good communication links
  • Report the progress of the project at regular intervals to the appropriate level of management both internally and to the customer.

Skill, Qualifications and Knowledge Required

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong Team player
  • Able to manage competing demands on time
  • Good / Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • The ability to collect, collate, analyse and present complex information clearly and concisely both in written and verbal form to audiences
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to give guidance and support to others and to provide/obtain information from other areas of the Company
  • Power BI or Microsoft Access knowledge preferred although not essential.
