Description:We have an exciting new opportunity for tax accountants with knowledge and interest in systems building and implementation. We are seeking candidates with excitement and energy to support a long-term project and willingness to overcome challenges working collaboratively with tax team peers, other functional peers and systems team members.
Primary responsibility of this new role involves configuring and maintaining the Vertex O-Series indirect tax determination software for the Lockheed Martin. Candidate will work directly with tax consulting and software partners as well as internal Tax, ERP, and finance business and operations stakeholders to help meet Lockheed Martin’s global indirect tax technology needs and requirements. This will include tax systems implementation, transaction analysis, supply chain analysis, business requirements analysis, and business transformation.
Our transformation includes our global teams and will require a flexible work schedule to facilitate and participate in meetings with our global team members (focus on EU, Middle East, and APAC regions).
Other responsibilities of this role will be to prepare and deliver Sales and Use Tax (SUT) and/or Value Added Tax (VAT) Technology training presentations aimed at internal audience. Other assignments as given during non-peak periods.
Desired work location is a major LM location within the US Eastern time zone to be successful collaborating with colleagues in EU, Middle East, and APAC regions.
Some Travel may be required. Not expected to exceed 5-10 of time.
Basic Qualifications:
• Tax technical experience (consulting, compliance, audit support) with Value Added Tax/General Services Tax (VAT/GST) and sale/use taxes.
• Recent experience with implementing and maintaining Vertex O-Series tax technology solution for global organizations.
• Detail-oriented and willingness to learn new systems, government accounting, and VAT rules as needed.
• Minimum 6 years experience working in a corporate tax accounting or tax consulting role
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax accounting, finance or related business discipline.
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
Desired Skills:
• Understanding of key indirect tax processes and data drivers while possessing a broad industry background/understanding of manufacturing.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP applications, specifically with the tax, AP/PO, A/R and/or G/L module.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, or process mapping software.
• Certified as a global indirect tax and/or sales and use implementation professional from various vendors and/or other acceptable qualifications and designations including PMI certification.
• Has obtained or is working toward obtaining advanced certifications relevant to tax – e.g. CPA, LLM/JD, MTX, EA, etc.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,100 - $157,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
