VAT Compliance Specialist entails dealing with timely and accurate preparation of VAT returns and EC Sales Lists, performing VAT checks, and will be involved in compliance activities in the VAT area according to internal procedures, legal requirements and Policies (VAT coding and reporting). Monitor changing VAT requirements and regulations and advise ESSC teams with the implementation of legislative changes within the region
Your responsibilities
- Prepare VAT returns and EC Sales Lists (ECSL) reports.
- Implement quality controls and support VAT reporting automation.
- Reconcile VAT payments and VAT accounts in BlackLine.
- Provide VAT-related advice and consultation to ESSC and local finance teams.
- Verify transaction compliance with EU VAT regulations and perform appropriate controls.
- Participate in the Track & Trace project focused on process improvement.
- Act as a subject matter expert in financial projects.
- Deliver VAT trainings for internal teams.
- Control VAT transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Report VAT-related KPI indicators.
Who we are looking for
- Higher education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher)
- Min.3 years of experience in accounting/finance, with a strong focus on VAT compliance
- Proficiency in VAT regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience with VAT reconciliation, reporting tools (e.g., Avalara), and automation solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with a process improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
