Dassault Falcon Jet is building a state-of-the-art foot flagship Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Melbourne, Florida. Dassault Falcon Jet will serve customers across North and South America and beyond, the complex will accommodate all current Falcon models, (including the new, ultra-long-range Falcon 10X, the largest purpose-built business jet), and will be capable of performing major maintenance and modifications on up to 18 Falcon models.
JOB SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for the preparation of an approved proposal to provide to a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for delivery to a customer. This involves the compilation of labor hours, material estimates and service requirements, entering the information into Corridor (company system), and obtaining the appropriate approvals.
This role will interface with multiple positions within the company and outside vendors to obtain work scope definition, material lists and labor estimates. Once the proposal is completed, he/she will monitor the proposal through the approval process and ultimately deliver it to the RSM.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
• Create and implement inspection, service bulletin and modification estimates by providing base cost estimates (labor hours, material and services) for avionics inspections, installations, projects or products relating to avionics, as specified in the Customer Specifications and Sales Requests
• Maintain close communication with Sales, Engineering, operations, scheduling and Dassault Customer Services for continuous maintenance and development of avionics installations, inspection and service bulletin product roadmap and portfolio
• Work with vendors to improve relationships and product partnerships
• Assist in defining, implementing and continuously improving the product development processes
• Ensure products are consistently created and maintained in Corridor
• Update Sales & Marketing with information of new products, upcoming products and changes with vendors
• Works with appropriate departments as required to assure consideration of all pertinent facts for accurate specifications and estimates and ensures accuracy and completeness of materials and components including technical terminology and costs
• Maintains an up-to-date list of costs of materials to be used in proposal estimates. In addition, collects and maintains actual to estimated job files
• Maintains complete files on all Customer Specifications and estimates made
• Works closely with operations to develop estimates on labor hours per task, turn-time and material/services requirements, lead time and scheduled events flat rates.
• Works closely with buyers to acquire current lead time on critical parts
• Review products in development to anticipate possible spaneting opportunities, scheduling and financial impact
• Recommends lead time and down time required based on manpower in the requested facility
• Creates preliminary and final customer proposal for presentation to the RSM and customer
• Adhere to Dassault Aircraft Services General Work Rules and ethics
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
• Participate in research and other various projects as required
• Provide guidance on scope and design of new tools, databases and systems
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree in Aviation, related field or equivalent work experience
• Previous experience working in a customer service oriented environment
• Three to Five years experience with aircraft avionics installation
• Written and verbal skills in developing and explaining technical avionics workscopes
• Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize and coordinate workload within a multi-task setting
• Skilled in researching methods for obtaining technical information
• Working knowledge of Service Bulletins and other technical documents
• Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs
• Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate MS Office programs, databases, email, web-based applications, and Falcon Jet Customer Services specific software (ie Corridor)
• Working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations for example, part 91, 135 and 145 and other certification requirements such as STC, TC, EASA and 8110 approval basis
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interface, establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, management, vendors and customers
• Ability to articulate product benefits while interfacing with Customers and our Sales team
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Avionics experience on Falcon Jet manufactured aircraft
• Product development experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
• Almost continual amount of work performed in a general office environment
• Moderate to occasional work before or after regularly scheduled business hours may be required
• Occasional overnight travel may be required
• Occasionally, some amount of time working may be spent working in general shop conditions that may require exposure to hot, cold or humid weather conditions, and wet and/or humid elements
• Occasional exposure to loud noise intensity levels
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position typically falls between $X and $Y per hour/per year. This position is or is not eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus, shift differential or relocation assistance. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
