We are seeking experienced Avionics Technicians to support the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) program—an advanced aircraft conversion effort transforming Boeing 747-8i platforms into secure, EMP-hardened airborne command centers for the U.S. Air Force. This role involves the installation, modification, and troubleshooting of complex avionics systems on wide-body aircraft, contributing directly to one of the most mission-critical aviation programs in modern U.S. defense history.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, route, and terminate avionics wiring harnesses and connectors to support military-grade communications, navigation, and control systems.
- Integrate mission-critical systems, including NC3 components, SATCOM, radar, and aircraft survivability technology
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Perform troubleshooting, continuity checks, and functional testing on newly installed and modified avionics systems.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- 3+ years of recent avionics installation and troubleshooting experience on large aircraft.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
- Experience with military-grade wiring standards, including MIL-STD or IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred.
- Familiarity with connector assembly, wire bundling, pinning/de-pinning, and coax/fiber installations.
- Must supply own basic hand tools per company-required list.
- Ability to work overtime, different shifts, and support long-term project schedules.
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
