Automation Control Technician
Job Description
As an Automation Control Technician, you will play a crucial role in installing and terminating wiring for instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the efficient operation of electrical conveyances and power distribution equipment. You will collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot issues and contribute to the development of work planning documents.
Responsibilities
- Install and terminate wiring to pad instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs.
- Perform continuity checks and correct wiring errors using measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and voltmeters.
- Support fellow technicians and engineering employees using shop assembly equipment and hand tools.
- Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data.
- Write, create, and organize work planning documents and instructions.
- Generate purchase orders from vendor quotes.
- Lead complex projects with little to no oversight.
- Install and modify electrical conveyances, including conduit and cable trays.
- Build intricate cable assemblies using Mil-C connectors and contacts.
- Troubleshoot AC power distribution equipment.
- Terminate, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based manufacturing hardware.
- Fabricate support structures for electrical distribution equipment.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming and automation.
- Experience with Siemens PLC and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- 2+ years of experience with instrumentation such as pressure transducers and flow meters.
- Experience with ISO 9000, IPC-620, and ICP-610 standards.
- Understanding of basic direct current electrical theory.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in aerospace technology or another technical field.
- Quality inspection experience with harnessing and cables.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to design and fabricate simple electrical circuits.
- Experience with NI and Studio 5000.
- Proficient with power and hand tools.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of McGregor, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
