SUMMARY:

The Crew Chief shall be responsible to his/her Senior Crew Chief / Manager for the overall operation of his/her crew.  The Crew Chiefs duties shall be assigned / reassigned by his/her Senior Crew Chief / Manager. Note: When performing Crew Chief duties as described in this section, the employee is directly supervising the technicians on his/her assigned crew.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides on-the-job training and technical assistance to personnel in his/her crew.
  2. Evaluates the performance of personnel on his/her crew and make recommendations as necessary to his/her supervisor.
  3. Performs only that work authorized by his/her senior crew chief and ensure that the work is performed to the standards of good workmanship required by ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc.
  4. Ensures that all tools and equipment used by his/her crew are kept in serviceable condition and stored in an orderly manner.
  5. Recommends to his/her supervisor any requirements or improvements for his/her crew.
  6. Exercises control over stock checked out of Stockroom by employees on his/her crew.
  7. Completes his/her crew time cards and approve all hours worked.
  8. Reports to his/her senior crew chief, with recommendations, any personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily within the crew.
  9. Recommends disciplinary action within his/her crew.
  10. Assists his/her senior crew chief as requested in the evaluation of non-routine work cards for parts, manhours and span time, and indicate corrective action.
  11. Monitors, continuously, work progress.
  12.  Keeps his/her supervisor apprised of the status at all times, particularly on jobs that are off schedule.
  13.  Assists his/her senior crew chief in preparation of the shift status and change-over reports.
  14. Performs any work that may be assigned by his/her senior crew chief.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge of all appropriate mechanic skill levels, through understanding of all FAR’s and company policies and procedures, through knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials, knowledge of all maintenance and internal paperwork including all personnel forms and documentation.

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

 

CERTIFICATION: Airframe license and/or repairman certificate

 

EXPERIENCE: 4 years heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience, heavy maintenance work experience in the Avionics field required
