We’re seeking an experienced Avionics Manager to lead a growing team in maintaining, upgrading, and installing avionics systems in small general aviation aircraft. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, installations, team development, and departmental growth. The area’s demand is growing, and this department requires a leader who will be able to work with the company team and grow the department. Strong modern avionics experience—especially with Garmin—is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Leadership to the members of the department -The position requires a leader who can build respect from their team and lead the department.
- Provide Accurate Estimates - Prepare quotes for repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and installations.
- Hands-On Troubleshooting & Repair - Diagnose and resolve avionics issues, perform routine and unscheduled maintenance, and ensure systems pass all required testing.
- Customer Communication - Discuss job details, timelines, and recommendations with customers clearly and professionally.
- Cross Department Collaboration - Coordinate with other departments to support smooth workflow.
- Regulatory Compliance - Follow all FAA and Repair Station requirements and ensure work is completed to regulatory standards.
- Workflow & Team Leadership - Monitor shop workflow with management, mentor technicians, and contribute to continual improvement of the department.
- Parts Coordination - Work with office staff to order parts and track progress for upcoming jobs.
- Education of Team members – Part of the responsibility is to help improve the department through mentoring and training of the members of the team. Helping to educate each other, the team has the ability for improvement and growth.
- Will maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot small general aviation aircraft – The company works with the Aviation Community on Small General Aviation aircraft. Examples include Cessna 150- Cessna 208, Piper Single and Twin Engines, Beechcraft Bonanza – Baron- King Air, Robinson Helicopter R22 – R44 – R66. These aircraft serve as examples, but they are not the full list of aircraft maintained by the facility.
