Job Description:

The Avionics Installer IV leads and supports technicians performing avionics installations on aircraft. This role is responsible for fabricating wire harnesses, installing and terminating wiring, performing ring-outs, and assisting with functional testing of avionics and electrical systems. The position ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide work direction to technicians and ensure tasks are completed within scheduled timeframes
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to support on-time aircraft delivery
  • Install, modify, and fabricate wiring, electrical components, fixtures, and related equipment per engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Fabricate and terminate wire harnesses; assist with testing and troubleshooting avionics systems
  • Support Engineering in resolving technical issues and implementing repairs
  • Train and mentor team members in avionics installation tasks
  • Maintain required logs, records, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications
  • Enforce FOD, tool control, 5S, and safety programs
  • Inspect completed work to ensure defect-free assembly prior to final inspection
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, YIAW, etc.)
  • Assist team coordinators and support shift transitions when required
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Either:
    • Two (2) years accredited aviation electronics schooling + two (2) years related experience
      OR
    • Four (4) years experience in an avionics/electronics field
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer/keyboard skills required
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks with minimal impact to schedule performance
  • Working knowledge of Gulfstream policies, inspection procedures, and process specifications preferred
