We have partnered with a large and well-respected FBO to identify an Avionics Manager to join their team in Arizona. The Avionics Department Manager will function as the primary face of our client related to its avionics offerings and must be an exceptional relationship builder with the drive to provide world-class customer service. Individuals should seek to firmly establish our client and themselves as the target market’s first choice for A/C Avionics needs and to differentiate both themselves and our client from other avionics service organizations and their representatives. The Avionics Manager is the external representative of our company to our target market in General Aviation, including owners/operators of piston, turboprop, and small and mid-size jet aircraft.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of the avionics department to ensure organization meets key financial targets.
- Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities. Initiates action plans to secure new business for the Company.
- Assist customers in developing the appropriate work scope and directs team members to ensure successful completion of projects, i.e., meeting customer expectations.
- Develop customer quotations and bids.
- Maintain full P&L responsibility for Avionics Department.
- Hire, train, and develop technician staff.
- Responsible for ensuring all required FAA documentation is generated.
- Needs to be cognizant of and have the ability to maximize the “cash cycle”, i.e., sales order to invoice payment.
- Develop strategies and implement tactical activities focused on increasing the contact level with customers and potential customers, including hosting customer seminars, participating in industry functions, open houses, and trade shows.
- Interface with the Marketing organization to drive high-value solutions, leveraging ou client’s portfolio. Assist in development of marketing / advertising plan designed to achieve maximum market penetration.
- Participate in monthly operational review with Executive Management.
- Work with Manager of the Maintenance Dept on joint avionics / maintenance work orders.
- Accountable for ensuring that the 3 key customer satisfaction objectives are met: “On-Time”, “On-Budget”, and “Completed Right the First Time.”
- Work effectively with other corporate organizations, to include Accounting, Inventory Logistics, and Warranty Departments.
- Responsible for generating the annual budget aligned with company objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring that appropriate work records are properly executed by all personnel.
- Responsible for achieving sales, profit, and operating metric objectives set for the department.
- Establishes and follows Best Practices when scheduling projects and completing project implementations. Nurtures and maintains customer relationships with customers while in-house.
- Maintain knowledge of his/her marketplace, awareness of competitors' products and pricing.
- Negotiate terms of sales and services with customers.
