Job Description:
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems on various aircraft models.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic issues efficiently to minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure avionics components and systems according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately and maintain comprehensive records of avionics work performed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes to maintain proficiency in avionics technology.  
Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Avionics Technician or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems, including communication, navigation, and radar systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, aircraft wiring, and schematic diagrams.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and industry standards governing avionics maintenance and installations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work meticulously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works where temperature fluctuation occurs consistent with the outside temperature, dust particulates, and engine fumes are present in the amount expected in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, depending on the equipment involved. In some instances, Personal Protective Equipment requirements include: the use gloves, dust mask, appropriate eye and ear protection when in the vicinity of manufacturing and aircraft. Those tasks will be specifically outlined in the safety manual.
