Avionics Technician - Production Flight Test

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a member of the Production Flight Test Department, the Avionics Technician will assist in any area of Epic Production Flight Test or R&D Flight Test as needed. This includes assisting in performing routine maintenance tasks on the Epic E1000GX Aircraft. Other expectations may include:

  • Fabricate, upgrade, and route wire harnesses according to Engineering drawings and specifications
  • Perform avionics installations and set up
  • Disassemble, assemble, and adjust electronic equipment  
  • Perform system-specific software loading
  • Properly use Avionics hand tools 
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems, such as electrical, hydraulics, flight controls, and major components
  • Take immediate corrective action regarding unsafe conditions
  • Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean and safe manner
  • Remove, clean, inspect, and replace aircraft components following training and written procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 4+ years of Avionics Experience
  • Experience with Garmin avionics systems is preferred but not required
  • Required: Experience with harness making and/or modification
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of other aircraft systems, such as hydraulics, flight control, and major components
  • Experience with Pratt and Whitney PT6A engines preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Avionics tooling
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems
  • Proficient in using hand tools  
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to follow CAD drawings & electrical schematics
  • A "can-do" teachable attitude with a willingness to help any person on the team with any task
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future

  • Competitive wages: $27-$35/hr. Depending on experience
  • Candidates with an A&P License can expect higher wages
  • Shift: Monday–Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
