Position Overview:
The Avionics/Electrical Technician II provides hands-on technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft electrical and avionics systems to ensure performance, reliability, and safety. The role supports production and final phase testing activities to meet schedule and quality goals while maintaining compliance with FAA, company, and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Perform operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft electrical systems with precision and efficiency.
- Install and functionally test electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
- Ensure quality workmanship by identifying and resolving system discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Repair or replace defective components and wiring using approved techniques such as soldering, splicing, and pinning.
- Execute engineering changes, modifications, and process updates as required.
- Set up and operate necessary test equipment to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Accurately document all work performed to meet inspection and certification requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate electronic test equipment and ensure adherence to tool control, FOD prevention, and 5S standards.
- Demonstrate adaptability to changing production schedules and priorities.
- Support flight testing and aircraft certification processes as required.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing cost, improving safety, and enhancing product quality.
- Cross-train and assist in related systems disciplines such as hydraulics, landing gear, environmental controls, or structural installations when needed.
