Job Description:
Avionics Technician ll is responsible for aircraft avionic system installations, maintenance, updates, and modifications.
  • Conducts avionic installations, maintenance, updates, and modifications on certified transport category aircraft flight data, navigation, and communication systems in accordance with applicable and current federal statues, industry guidelines and manufacturer procedures. 
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose avionic system malfunctions using industry test equipment and manufacture supplied wiring diagrams/schematics.
  • Perform minor sheet metal fabrication for replacement or new parts in accordance with applicable and current federal statutes and industry guidelines.
  • Writes and/or endorses aircraft logbook entries for work completed per applicable and current federal statues and repair station procedures.
  • Communicates with management, supervisor, and subordinates supporting development of aircraft modifications.
  • Maintains current, accurate time-keeping records in accordance with XPS company policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to company procedures and guidelines as depicted in XP Services Employee Handbook.
  • Accomplish additional tasks as assigned by XP Services Management.
Job Requirements:
  • United States citizen or
  • Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • Minimum 5 years experience conducting aircraft avionics installations and maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • FAA Part 145 Repair Station Repairman Certification in avionics systems.
  • Associate degree in a related field may be substituted for 1 years’ experience
  • Self-motivated for task completion and advancement of technical knowledge/skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Detailed understanding and interpretation of military/civilian electrical wire diagrams/schematics.
  • Experience with avionic components from the following manufacturing companies: 
  • Garmin, Genesys/S-Tec, Aspen, Avidyne, Collins, Grand Rapids, Bendix/King, Century, L3, JPI, Electronics International, and similar.
  • Knowledgeable in general sheet-metal practices for fabrication and repairs.
  • Practiced in the use of avionic test equipment required for avionic trouble shooting and testing.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability for travel up to 25% of the year, if required.
  • Pass regularly scheduled and no-notice substance abuse testing required by federal law.
  • Personal tools desired but not required.
