General Description

Will serve as Lead for a Contract Field Team comprised of 3 members working at various locations both CONUS and OCONUS. This team will complete the installation of modification packages on KC-135 aircraft. Depending on individual core electrical and or avionics skills and experience, technicians will initially be utilized for on-aircraft avionics and electrical wire harness routing, installation, and clamping. The Team Lead is critical to the overall success of the effort.

Duties

  • Performs as a Contract Field Team (CFT) Lead Technician.
  • Provides daily operational direction to the CFT team.
  • Updates the Project/Program Manager daily with progress reports.
  • Provides clear and concise direction to team members as well as ensures complete customer satisfaction.
  • Performs and trains other technicians on advanced avionics maintenance, modification, and repair functions.
  • Performs documentation of maintenance, modification, and repair activities.
  • Perform and conduct routine inspections, special inspections, and troubleshooting; as well as inspect the same tasks of other technicians as required by regulations.
  • Inspects completed work of other technicians to certify that maintenance actions meet standards and that aircraft are ready for operation.
  • Install aircraft avionic, electrical, or communication systems, sensors, and antennas.
  • Comply with both host facility safety and quality regulations/requirements as well as all applicable Tyonek quality and safety policies to ensure program success.
  • This position will start in Phoenix, AZ, but must be available to travel anywhere else for work nationwide.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 4 years on-the-job experience in any electrical or avionics aircraft-related discipline, preferably KC-135R/T.
  • Formal aviation avionics training from a technical trade or military technical school is required.
  • A Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License or an Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the FAA with commensurate General or Military Aviation experience is desired, but not required.
  • Must possess the ability and equivalent experience to read and comprehend avionics and mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Advanced understanding and demonstration of electronics and electrical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of using specialized equipment, tools, and test equipment in accordance with appropriate USAF Technical Orders and Job Guides.
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance
  • Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Laser-focus on cost-effective and economical repair and support for all aircraft electrical and avionics system repairs and modifications
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Evidence of and the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task
  • This position will begin in Arizona, but must be open to travel anywhere nationwide.
