As an Avionics Technician, you’ll work hands-on with advanced aircraft electronics—installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting the systems that keep modern aircraft safe, connected, and mission-ready. What You’ll Do
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft avionics and electrical systems in accordance with FAA regulations and approved technical data.
- Work with communications, navigation, autopilot, flight display, and cabin systems across a variety of general aviation and light turbine aircraft.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings to ensure precise routing, termination, and integration of components.
- Fabricate and install wiring harnesses, connectors, and terminations while maintaining proper labeling, shielding, and system integrity.
- Perform operational and functional testing; identify discrepancies and document corrective actions clearly and accurately.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and inspection teams to ensure proper configuration, compatibility, and system performance.
- Support aircraft modifications, upgrades, and retrofit programs from initial installation through final verification.
- Maintain tool control, calibration standards, and proper handling of sensitive avionics equipment.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures while contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and stay current with evolving avionics technology.
What You Bring
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; avionics or electronics technical training preferred.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate desired for Levels 1–II; A&P or Repairman Certificate required for Levels III–IV.
Experience
- Experience with avionics installation, troubleshooting, or aircraft electrical systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with aircraft modification, retrofit, or upgrade environments is highly valued.
- Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and pride in producing clean, reliable work.
