Job Description
This contract role offers the opportunity to perform complex avionics installation, modification, and troubleshooting on LUH-72, H-125, and H-145 helicopters within a New Helicopter Completions program and a Retrofit program. You will work in a modern, climate-controlled completion center, focusing on heavy modifications and installations on advanced rotary-wing aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Perform avionics installation and modification on LUH-72, H-125, H-145, and similar rotary-wing aircraft.
- Carry out heavy modification and installation work on avionics systems in support of new helicopter completions and retrofit programs.
- Install, route, and terminate wiring harnesses and related avionics cabling according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Install, integrate, and configure avionics systems and components in accordance with technical data and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot avionics systems and installations to identify faults, perform corrective actions, and verify proper operation.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to complete assigned tasks.
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and airworthiness standards and complies with applicable procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and shop personnel to coordinate tasks and resolve technical issues.
- Document work performed, discrepancies found, and corrective actions taken in accordance with shop and program requirements.
- Support both new aircraft completion activities and retrofit projects as assigned by the program.
Essential Skills
- Proven avionics installation and modification experience on aircraft.
- Experience with heavy avionics modification and installation projects.
- Ability to perform avionics troubleshooting on installed systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience working with avionics systems and wiring harness installation.
- Rotary-wing aircraft experience, preferably on platforms such as LUH-72, EC-145, EC-135, UH-60, or AH-64, or strong fixed-wing experience with avionics modification and installation.
- Capability to work effectively in a hangar/completion center environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Level I: Approximately 6–14 years of relevant avionics experience.
- Level II: Approximately 15+ years of relevant avionics experience.
- Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) experience is a strong plus but not required.
- Experience with avionics installation on EC-145, EC-135, LUH-72, UH-60, or AH-64 helicopters is highly beneficial.
- Background in both new completions and retrofit avionics work is advantageous.

The facility is designed to support complex avionics installation and modification work on helicopters, with appropriate shop areas, equipment, and technical infrastructure to carry out new completions and retrofit projects efficiently.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Columbus, MS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.50/hr.
