Job Description
This role focuses on the assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced avionics and electric propulsion components within a satellite production line. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure all products meet rigorous aerospace quality and reliability standards. The position is ideal for a technician with hands-on experience in high-reliability manufacturing environments who takes pride in precision, accuracy, and adherence to strict workmanship guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and integrate avionics systems, harnesses, and electric propulsion components according to detailed technical drawings, wiring schematics, and work instructions.
- Perform bench work to build, route, and secure wiring and electronic assemblies in line with aerospace harness dressing standards and practices.
- Conduct testing and calibration of avionics and propulsion subsystems to verify performance, functionality, and compliance with aerospace specifications.
- Use harness testing systems such as CIRRIS or similar tools to validate continuity, insulation resistance, and correct configuration of wiring assemblies.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly steps, test results, and any rework performed to support traceability and quality assurance requirements.
- Follow established manufacturing processes and quality procedures to ensure all work meets stringent aerospace and satellite production standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve technical problems and continuously improve assembly and test processes.
- Handle components and equipment in a cleanroom environment, adhering to contamination control practices and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship quality, ensuring compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA workmanship standards, or similar guidelines where applicable.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of avionics experience in aviation, aerospace, or satellite manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with assembly, wiring, and bench work for avionics or electronic systems.
- Proficiency with harness dressing standards and practices in aerospace environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and detailed work instructions.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems relevant to avionics and propulsion subsystems.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and high level of manual dexterity for precision assembly work.
- Commitment to quality and adherence to high-reliability manufacturing processes.
- Willingness and ability to work in a cleanroom environment while using required PPE.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technical certification in avionics, electronics, or aerospace assembly is preferred.
- Familiarity with CIRRIS or similar harness testing systems is a plus.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NASA workmanship certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working within structured aerospace quality and documentation systems.
- Comfort working with advanced electric propulsion components and subsystems.

Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
