Position Purpose
Under minimal supervision, the Avionics Technician/Installer assists with the removal, installation, modification, and testing of avionics and electrical systems. This role supports aircraft completions by performing wiring, harness fabrication, terminations, and functional testing in compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Assist with the installation, modification, and fabrication of avionics wiring and electrical components in accordance with blueprints, engineering drawings, worksheets, and schematics.
- Fabricate wire harnesses and perform terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems.
- Ensure all work meets FAA regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of work performed.
- Complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
- Inspect completed work to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection.
- Comply with company FOD, tool control, 5S, and all safety programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Additional Functions
- Properly care for and maintain shop tools and equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, YIAW).
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
