Job Title: Avionics Technician
Job DescriptionThis role is based in a Part 145 repair station, working primarily in hangars on general aviation and corporate aircraft. The Avionics Technician will perform troubleshooting, upgrades, installations, and repairs of avionics equipment and systems on a variety of aircraft, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting of avionics systems on general aviation and corporate aircraft to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Install, upgrade, and configure avionics equipment and systems in accordance with applicable regulations, technical data, and company procedures.
- Carry out avionics repairs, including component replacement, wiring, and harness work, using schematics and technical documentation.
- Read and interpret avionics schematics and wiring diagrams to support accurate installation and troubleshooting activities.
- Support inspections and maintenance activities on general aviation aircraft and a wide variety of corporate aircraft, including King Air 200 series and Citation 500 series, in coordination with maintenance teams.
- Use Garmin avionics systems and related equipment for installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting where applicable.
- Document all work performed in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
- Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance personnel in the hangar to complete work efficiently and safely.
- Travel locally as needed to support avionics work at nearby locations or on aircraft within the region.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in the hangar environment.
Essential Skills- 1–3 years of corporate or general aviation avionics troubleshooting experience.
- Hands-on experience with avionics systems troubleshooting, installation, and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret avionics schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience working on general aviation and corporate aircraft avionics.
- Strong avionics troubleshooting skills, including systematic diagnosis of equipment and system issues.
- Ability to perform avionics installations, including wiring, terminations, and harness work.
- Familiarity with Part 145 repair station practices and standards.
- Ability to work full-time on a first-shift schedule and flex hours as needed, including some weekends and light travel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Garmin avionics experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with harness fabrication or modification in an avionics environment.
- Background in military avionics will be considered and is welcomed.
- Exposure to inspections and maintenance on aircraft such as King Air 200 series and Citation 500 series is a plus.
- Familiarity with environments that are Flight Safety certified on specific aircraft types is beneficial.
- Experience in settings where NDT certification and PT6A training are present is an advantage.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively within a hangar-based maintenance team.

Work Environment
Work takes place in two active hangars located in Mt. Olive, NC and Rocky Mount, NC, with a current team of approximately 20 people. The role is primarily based in the hangars, working directly on aircraft in a Part 145 repair station environment that focuses on general aviation and corporate aircraft. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours and some weekends as needed to meet operational demands. The position may involve light travel around the local area to support aircraft at nearby locations. The setting is hands-on and technical, using avionics tools, schematics, and equipment appropriate for installation, troubleshooting, and repair work on aircraft systems.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
