Job Description:

Production (FAA Part 21) or Maintenance (FAA Part 145) of electrical and avionics systems for the company’s AW119, AW139, and AW609 helicopters.

Avionics Final Assembly Line (FAL) Technician (Part 21):

  • Assemble, modify & install wire bundles, conductors & other electrical components.
  • Installs standard and advanced electrical systems and performs electrical continuity testing.
  • Clearly, document work performed, control equipment status tags, log critical information during installation, verify parts requests, etc.
  • Read and interpret schematics assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, written instructions, etc.
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Assembly Line Supervisor.

Avionics Flight Line (FL) Technician (Part 21):

  • Assist in the transfer of helicopters from the Production line to the Flight Line, and perform incoming inspections.
  • Assemble, modify & install wire bundles, components, and other avionic equipment.
  • Perform function testing in accordance with applicable job cards.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and test avionic systems.
  • Perform crimping and de-pin and pin of electrical connectors.
  • Prepare helicopters for customer delivery.

Completions Avionics Technician (Part 145):

  • Perform inspections, repairs, service, and modifications to the helicopter electrical system.
  • Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all avionics systems that perform functions of communications, navigation, collision avoidance, target acquisition, and automatic aircraft flight control systems.
  • Service, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust AC and DC power generation, conversion and distribution systems, and aircraft batteries.
  • Worked in the SAP computer system regarding sign-offs and logging time on jobs.
  • Work overtime and travel, as needed.
  • Perform other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by Completions Supervisor.

Shifts: Part 21 (Production) runs two shifts – you will start on 1st shift, and the flexibility to work 2nd shift is a plus:

  • 1st Shift: Mon-Fri 7 am-3:30 pm – may be asked to work weekends and/or holidays
  • 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 3:30 pm-12 am – may be asked to work weekends and/or holidays.

Part 145 (Maintenance) runs two shifts:

  • 1st Shift: Mon-Fri 7 am-3:30 pm – may be asked to work weekends and/or holidays
  • 2nd Shift: Mon-Thu 1 pm-11:30 pm (4x10 schedule)

Compensation: Depends on position and experience:

  • Completions Avionics Tech (Jr): $27.74/hr - $30.00/hr
  • FAL Technician: $30.18/hr - $32.98/hr
  • Sr FAL Technician/FL Technician: $33.05/hr - $36.30/hr
  • Completions Avionics Technician: $33.05/hr - $36.30/hr
  • Sr FL/Sr Completions Technician: $37.16/hr - $40.67/hr
  • 2nd Shift earns $1.50/hr Shift Differential

Job Requirements:

Avionics Final Assembly Line (FAL) Technician (Part 21):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Electrical/Avionics aviation production is required.
  • Knowledge of rotor or fixed-wing aircraft.
  • General overall knowledge of aviation electrical/avionics components.
  • Able to use a variety of manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, heat shrink guns, complex, specialized aircraft test equipment, etc.
  • Effective communication skills.

Avionics Flight Line (FL) Technician (Part 21):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of aviation maintenance training/experience.
  • Rotor wing experience preferred.
  • Ability to assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components.
  • Ability to run wires, crimp and solder wires, pin wires and connectors, terminate wires, read schematics, (blueprints/job cards).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • General knowledge of ground support equipment.

Completions Avionics Technician (Part 145):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA A&P Certificate
  • Avionics Technicians with ample experience may be eligible to earn a Repairman’s License, in lieu of an A&P Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience (I-level maintenance). Helicopter experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles as applied to aviation and must be able to use/interpret diagrams, blueprints, and technical publications.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable.
Salary Range: $57,699-$84,594
