Job Description:

Position Summary:                                                                                                                                                  

The Avionics Technician performs installation, inspection, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and modification of aircraft avionics systems and related components. This position ensures all avionics equipment is installed and maintained in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company procedures while supporting overall aircraft safety and operational reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                          

  • Install and integrate avionics systems using engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals with limited supervision.
  • Testing using IFR 4000/6000, Pitot Static, bond meters, etc.
  • Working with Honeywell, Collins, Garmin, GOGO, and more.
  • Examine avionics components and installations to ensure proper assembly, fit, and compliance with specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
  • Conduct operational testing of avionics equipment under simulated or actual conditions to verify system functionality and airworthiness.
  • Evaluate test results to identify necessary adjustments, repairs, or replacement of faulty components.
  • Utilize only approved tools and equipment that are within current calibration standards during maintenance and installation activities.
  • Participate in flight tests when required to assist with in-flight system checks and identify any follow-up maintenance needs.
  • Inspect and verify performance of communication systems, navigation equipment, weather radar, autopilot systems, compass systems, and related avionics components.
  • Accurately complete required documentation, including reports, inspection records, and maintenance forms in accordance with company and FAA guidelines.
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and properly use required safety equipment in compliance with company, government, and OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed to support maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of work.

Job Qualifications:                                                                                                                                                  

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 737 aircraft experience required
  • 3–5 years of aircraft avionics experience
  • Must possess own tools (shadowed and etched)

Certifications & employment requirements Licenses                                                                         

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or FCC License (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • DOT Drug screening
  • Background check

Pay and schedule:                                                                                                                                                   

  • Hourly based on experience
  • M-F Day shift
  • Contract/Contact-to-hire
