Summary:
Apply advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve avionics issues beyond standard manuals
Analyze aircraft circuits, signal flow, and waveforms using complex test equipment
Perform bench and flight line operational testing and troubleshooting in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, and company directives
Assemble, install, modify, and test wire bundles and avionics components
Interpret and work from schematics, blueprints, wire diagrams, charts, and technical instructions
Diagnose and correct malfunctions in assembly and modification processes
Use precision measuring instruments and tools to verify quality and conformance
Ensure compliance with all safety, hazardous energy, and lockout/tagout procedures
Assist with training and mentoring less senior technicians
Lead or support teams on complex aircraft tasks as needed
Collaborate with management and peers to assess and improve work processes
Support other disciplines (Structures, General Mechanics, Electrics) to meet cost and schedule goals
Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits
Perform physical tasks including ladder climbing, confined space work, and lifting up to 35 lbs
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
4+ years of related avionics or electronics experience (or equivalent education/experience)
Experience with C-17 or other heavy aircraft platforms
Experience with aircraft avionics systems (Comm/Nav, Data Links, Radar, Electronic Systems)
4+ years reading and working from schematics, specifications, and assembly drawings
3+ years experience with aircraft computer systems and basic office software
Familiarity with hazardous energy and lockout/tagout procedures
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
