Role Title: Avionics Technical Officer
Role Description:
The successful candidate will be completing all technical activities under an approved Engineering Management System (EMS). Activities include, but are not limited to:
a. Conformance to instructions described in the EMS.
b. Technical Information (TI) handling; registration, assessment of applicability, determination of Technical Airworthiness Alert Information (TAAI) status and actions required.
c. Develop and review of:
• Responses to Technical Reports.
• Action Strategies for Airworthiness Directives (and similar correspondence).
• Technical Dispositions.
• System Safety Analysis.
• Special Technical Instructions (STI).
• Aircraft and component Deviations.
• Aircraft and component Modification.
• Development of Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA & PCA).
• Development of Test and Evaluation Plans.
• Drawing development and requests and Drawing Change Notices (DCNs).
• System tests, investigations and reports.
• Technical support for tests and evaluations.
d. Classification of Design.
e. Perform Aviation Technical Publication Management activities in support of the capability including, but not limited to:
• Raising of Amendments – Publication Improvement Request & Reply (PIRR), EE400/401 for internal use or external agencies.
• Develop/coordinate publication amendments for Commonwealth Sponsored publications.
• Develop/coordinate publication changes IAW the EMS for Commonwealth sponsored publications.
• Progress illustration packages for Commonwealth sponsored publications.
• Review publication changes and amendments managed by the Commonwealth.
• Draft and/or technically approve Publication Changes.
f. Recommendations for Incorporation Approval and Service Release.
Essential Requirements:
• Be able to achieve "Logistics Engineer" Engineering Authority IAW AASB Instruction (E&T) 12-0-004 or the ability to achieve within 6 months (Essential)
• Appropriate Engineering Qualification (AQF Level 04 or higher in an avionics/software maintenance trade)
• One or more Aircraft Type or Systems Manager Courses.
Desirable Requirements:
• 2+ years experience as an avionics/software aircraft technician in an aviation maintenance or program office environment
Required Security Clearance Level: Negative Vetting 1
