Job Description

This role supports the production of advanced unmanned aerial vehicles by building, installing, and maintaining aircraft electrical systems and components. You will manufacture and repair electrical wire bundles and harnesses, perform soldering and troubleshooting on avionics and electronics, and ensure that all work meets stringent aerospace quality and safety standards. The position involves hands-on work in a fast-paced production and R&D environment, contributing to both established products and new prototype builds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production manufacturing tasks, including building and installing electrical wire bundles, wire stripping, connector terminations, and soldering on aircraft electrical systems.
  • Manufacture, test, inspect, and repair electrical systems and components used on unmanned aerial vehicles.
  • Build and repair aircraft wiring and wiring harnesses, ensuring correct routing, labeling, and secure connections.
  • Perform operational checkout of aircraft electrical systems and complete required inspections to verify proper function and compliance.
  • Conduct in-progress and follow-up inspections during and upon completion of electrical installations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Solder electrical and avionics components using appropriate tools and techniques to meet aerospace standards.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft electrical and avionics system discrepancies using test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and implement effective repairs.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, specialty tools, and test equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Assist in building prototypes for initial designs and low-volume builds that are not yet released into full production, working closely with engineering and R&D teams.
  • Participate in field testing and flight testing activities as required, which may involve occasional travel.
  • Support and assist other mechanics and technicians as needed to meet production and testing schedules.
  • Follow established procedures and work instructions on semi-routine assignments while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
  • Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and engineered designs to create clear build instructions for assembly and test personnel.
  • Adhere to aircraft manufacturing safety procedures and contribute to a safe and organized work area.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of recent hands-on experience in electrical wire bundle manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical schematics and the ability to interpret and apply them in a production environment.
  • Proven ability to translate engineered designs into practical build instructions for assembly and test teams.
  • Hands-on experience using wire strippers, crimping hand tools, specialty tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Strong familiarity with electronics, including hands-on experience with analog and digital hardware.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft electrical systems and their components.
  • Experienced and skilled in wiring and soldering for electrical and avionics applications.
  • Ability to interpret and understand electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience in electronics troubleshooting using tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and assembly of wire harnesses, including crimping and cable routing.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to aircraft manufacturing safety procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Equivalent of 2–4 years of advanced studies beyond high school with emphasis in electronics, soldering, or related technical training in an R&D environment is preferred.
  • Certificate from a trade or technical school in electronics, soldering, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in an aircraft manufacturing or aerospace R&D environment is preferred.
  • Experience with basic analog and digital circuit troubleshooting and repair is desired.
  • Specific experience with wiring harnesses, plastics, composites, and printed circuit board manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Experience in medical device assembly or similar highly regulated, precision assembly environments is welcomed.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where small teams share a broad variety of duties.
  • Comfort working from blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable electrical assemblies.
Why Work Here?

You will join a high-impact environment where your hands-on skills directly contribute to innovative aerospace technologies. The organization supports your well-being with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as voluntary life and AD&D insurance for you and your dependents.
