POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform installations, modifications, testing, and troubleshooting of avionics systems on SH-60 helicopters. You will ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety in compliance with FAA, OEM, and customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install and integrate avionics systems, including navigation, communication, and mission-specific equipment, on SH-60 helicopters.
- Perform system modifications, updates, and upgrades per technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
- Conduct functional and operational testing of installed systems to ensure proper performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot avionics issues using schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures during installations and modifications.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in avionics installations and modifications, preferably on SH-60 or similar military helicopters.
- Helicopter experience is a plus, but it is not required.
- Strong understanding of avionics systems, including wiring, schematics, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with avionics test equipment and tools.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance if required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment 10 Panel NON DOT drug test and criminal background check.
- Proof of US Citizenship
- Valid US Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- May work in hazardous working conditions, near flight lines; some assignments are within an uncontrolled climate facility.
- Must be able to see with corrective eye wear and hear clearly with assistance.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, or crouch.
- The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Expected to handle/manage hazardous materials/waste in accordance with regulatory and industrial standards.
- Wears/maintains personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, hearing, extremities, respiratory devices, protective shields and barriers as required
