Race City Flight Operations is looking for a Lead A&P I/A Mechanic. The Lead will be responsible for successful accomplishment of all aspects of the aircraft
maintenance project. Lead a team of mechanics performing inspections, repairs and modification services on aircraft.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
·Responsible for team performance on aircraft inspection, repair, and modification projects.
·Accomplish all required maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and alteration of single and multi engine piston aircraft and engines to FAA airworthiness standards.
·Read and interpret manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, engineering drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
·The use of hand, shop, sheetmetal, precision, and calibrated tools.
·Perform line station maintenance to keep aircraft in flyable and safe operating condition.
·Operate ground equipment such as tugs, power carts and fork lift.
·Must have a basic set of hand tools required to perform duties and responsibilities.
Knowledge & Skills:·Ability to solve problems as they occur on the local level, not allowing the issue to progress further.
·Knowledge and ability to work on hydraulic, landing gear, flight control, propeller and electrical systems.
·Demonstrated supervisory skills.
·Ability to work in a team environment.
·Strong work ethic.
·Use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
·Resolve challenges in imaginative as well as practical ways.
·Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
·Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
·English language proficiency required.
Experience/Requirements and Physical Requirements:·FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate and Inspection Authorization (I/A) required.
·Minimum of 5 years mechanic experience on piston engine aircraft which must include a minimum of three years on the Cessna 100 and 200 series aircraft.
·Acceptable completion or drug screening & background check requirements.
·Valid state driver’s license required.
·Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
·Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
