Experienced aircraft sheet metal modification technicians with commensurate experience, KC-135 experience. This position will serve as one of six Contract Field Team members working at Rickenbacker ANGB, OH. Activities include the installation of modification packages on KC-135 aircraft.
Depending on individual core structural or sheet metal skills and experience, sheet metal technicians will be utilized to install different types of fabricated parts, brackets, racks, wire harnesses and antennas using a multitude of different fasteners, specialized tools and test equipment in accordance with appropriate federal aviation regulations, manufacturer's recommendations, technical manuals, and or Government or industry standards.
Sheet metal technicians will also be utilized for on aircraft electrical wire harness routing, installation, and clamping, as well as operate Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE). Technicians may also be assigned other duties that supports the aircraft modification effort.
Experience and Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years of on-the-job aircraft sheet metal and or structural experience. Advanced aircraft structural, sheet metal, airframe training from a technical trade or military technical school is also required. A current Airframe license issued by the FAA with commensurate General or Military Aviation experience is highly desired.
Technicians must possess the ability and commensurate experience to read and comprehend structural, mechanical drawings, and specifications. A vast and thorough understanding and demonstration of mechanical aptitude and sheet metal use of tools and equipment is required.
Technicians must also have familiarity with Quality Assurance (QA) and AS9100 methods, principles, inspections, auditing, and certification. Borsight’s QA program of aircraft modification. Technicians will be required to use specialized equipment, tools, and equipment in accordance with appropriate USAF Technician Orders and Job Guides.
Technicians must have the physical ability to climb ladders, stoop, bend, be on your feet for extended periods of time, work in cramped spaces, work on top of aircraft, and lift and/or carry items weighing more than 50 pounds.
Work Schedule
· Tuesday-Friday
· 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
· 10-hour day shift
· No alternate shift work
· No weekend shift work
· Overtime is very unlikely
Conditions of Employment
· Must be a US Citizen
· Must reside locally, and commute daily to Rickenbacker, OH
· Willing to submit to a preemployment background check
· Must obtain and possess a U.S. Government secret security clearance
· Willing to submit to initial/reoccurring urinalysis screening
· Some CONUS travel may be required
Hourly Pay Range
· $32-$37 per hour
