Pay & Benefits:
Pay of $58.61 to $58.61 per hour*, with the opportunity for future increase per applicable collective bargaining agreement wage scale. Opportunities for overtime and shift premiums.

The Technical Instructor delivers on our Purpose by developing and implementing technical training for Southwest Employees in the Technical Operations Department. This role works to remain current on the latest technology, equipment, and training procedures as they apply to our fleet. The Technical Instructor is a detail-orientated thinker who is excited about the opportunity to be part of meaningful and impactful initiatives and drive the future of Southwest.

Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX headquarters facility during business hours.

- Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor&39;s Degree
- Experience
- Required: 8 years of commercial aviation industry experience
- Required: 5 years of hands-on commercial aircraft maintenance or 5 years Boeing 737 instructional design/courseware development and technical instruction experience
- Licensing/Certification
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate, required
- Physical Abilities
- Must be able to stand and publicly speak up to 6 hours per day
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to access all sections of the aircraft via stands and ladders
- Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be willing to travel extensively for long periods of time, frequently
- Must be willing to work variable days/shifts, frequently
