Summary:
Lead structural analysis efforts for Saab 340B modifications, including engine nacelles, airframes, and supporting structures for hybrid-electric propulsion components.
Perform detailed stress, strain, and load calculations using advanced FEA tools (e.g., Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus) to ensure structural integrity across flight conditions.
Evaluate structural impacts of integrating electrical, mechanical, and energy storage systems.
Develop, review, and approve structural analysis reports, documentation, and recommendations for design modifications.
Collaborate with design, systems, and flight test teams to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and certification requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on structural analysis methods and best practices.
Support flight test planning, execution, and post-test analysis to validate structural performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysis, aircraft modification, or experimental aircraft programs.
Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), structural dynamics, and load analysis for aircraft structures.
Proficiency with CAD and FEA tools such as CATIA, Nastran, ANSYS, or Abaqus.
Strong understanding of aircraft structural materials, load paths, and safety factors.
Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
