Summary:
Perform structural analysis and design modifications for the Saab 340B to integrate hybrid-electric propulsion components.
Modify engine nacelles, airframes, and other structural elements to safely support new propulsion systems.
Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure structural modifications align with electrical, mechanical, and energy storage systems.
Conduct weight, balance, and performance assessments related to structural changes.
Develop and review engineering drawings, CAD models, and documentation for fabrication and certification.
Support flight test planning and analysis to validate structural integrity and performance.
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, safety regulations, and certification requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, load analysis, and stress/strain calculations.
Experience in aircraft systems integration, propulsion, or structural modification.
Understanding of hybrid-electric propulsion systems and aircraft electrical systems.
Familiarity with flight deck instrumentation and pilot interface design.
Proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
Experience using structural analysis software such as Nastran or ANSYS.
Background in aircraft modification, retrofit, or experimental programs.
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
