Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is looking for an Engineer 1st Class to work in the Quantico, Virginia.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance during his/her watch of all equipment in his/her plant as defined in Contract or Statement of Work plans.
Duties include but are not limited to; operating and maintaining one or more systems which provide the facility with such services as heat, air-conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and circulate air), refrigeration, steam, water or electricity.
Performs maintenance and repairs to all equipment as defined in Contract or Statement of Work documents as it pertains to his/her trade under the direct supervision of his/her immediate supervisor.
- Duties involve observing and interpreting readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system’s operation, adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided; recording in logs various aspects of the system’s operation; through hands on performance, keeping the engines, machinery and equipment of the systems in good working order.
- May direct and coordinate activities of other workers in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system(s).
- Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to meet night and weekend requirements.
Qualifications
- Must be able to meet base access requirements.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have a current HVAC License.
