An exciting opportunity exists for a college graduate to join our RF/Microwave Engineering Team at Raytheon. These departments develop, design, test and manufacture compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.
We research, develop, design, and integrate electrical (Analog, Power, RF/Microwave, and Digital) components, embedded and digital signal processing software, equipment, systems, sub-systems, and networks for the defense of domestic and foreign purposes. As member of our team you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of systems and equipment from receivers, exciters and processing electronics and communications systems that support multiple Radar programs. Some of the programs our department supports include Global Patriot (https://www.rtx.com/raytheon/what-we-do/integrated-air-and-missile-defense/global-patriot-solutions) and Early Warning Systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical design and development, an eagerness to learn, the ability to work 100 onsite and collaboratively with a team, and an interest in complex, real-time, critical systems.
This position is an onsite role in Tewksbury, MA, Andover, MA, or Marlborough, MA.
What You Will Do
- Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements
- Assemble RF/microwave/millimeter-wave test systems
- Use software to control test equipment and plot test results
- Support the MMIC and module design teams
- Integration and test of Digital, Analog, and RF components and modules.
- Circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation maintenance, trade assessments for obsolescence resolution, troubleshooting and resolution of hardware performance issues and hardware integration, test and verification.
- Work as part of a team to analyze Hardware / Firmware test requirements / specifications to determine Hardware and Firmware requirements.
- Develop solutions to test issues and develop productivity and efficiency enhancements.
- Interact with test technicians, factory facilitators, operations managers, other engineers, Quality Assurance and Reliability personnel.
- Design of RF microwave components and phased array applications
- Integration and test of component level and system level phased array hardware
What You Will Learn
- RF/Microwave device, MMIC, and module characterization techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
- Test system set-up
- Software such as Python, Labview, Keysight ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Expedition, AutoCAD, TCAD, C++, Java, JMP
- Data analysis techniques
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
- Experience/coursework in one or more of the following: RF/microwave, Analog, Digital Electronics, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Electromagnetics
Qualifications We Prefer
- Lab experience specific to RF/microwave device and circuit measurements
- Knowledge of electrical circuit design, analysis and troubleshooting using common lab equipment.
- Experience with any of the following software: Python, Labview, Keysight ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Expedition, AutoCAD, TCAD, C++, Java, JMP
- Good written and oral communication skills

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
