Active Secret Clearance Required to Start
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain real-time, multi-threaded embedded software on custom hardware platforms
- Work on Android and Linux-based operating systems, including Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Android System Application development
- Apply object-oriented design principles using C++, Java, UML, and model-based design tools such as IBM Rhapsody
- Support long-lifecycle product development with periodic maintenance and technology refresh cycles
- Integrate and develop Hypervisor and ARM virtualization technologies within secure embedded systems
- Implement low-level components including device drivers and board-level support
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, software architecture, coding, integration, test planning, debugging, and defect resolution
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines (hardware, software, systems) in an Agile development environment
- Use tools for version control, defect tracking, scripting, and integrated development environments (IDEs) to support product development
- Contribute technical leadership and independently manage the scope, schedule, and execution of assigned development tasks
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field; or Master’s degree plus 3+ years of experience
- Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance required at time of hire
- Experience: 5+ years of embedded software development (or 3+ with Master’s degree)
- Technical Skills:
- Real-time embedded software on Linux and/or Android
- Object-Oriented Programming: C++, Java, UML
- Android Open Source Project (AOSP) development
- Model-based development using IBM Rhapsody or similar tools
- ARM architecture and virtualization (Hypervisor support)
- Linux kernel, device drivers, and embedded build systems (e.g., Ninja/SOONG)
- Agile development practices and DevSecOps tools
- Work Environment: This is a fully on-site position located in Dedham, MA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hypervisor technologies
- Android system-level development
- Secure embedded system design in DoD environments
- Familiarity with long-lifecycle product support and technology refresh cycles
