As an Advanced Cyber Security Architect/Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in fortifying defenses against emerging threats and acting as the subject matter expert for technical challenges.
You will report directly to our Manager of Cybersecurity and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
This role supports DoD Collateral programs by providing onsite system administration, IT infrastructure management, and end-user support. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency Assessment and Authorization Guide (DAAG) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 while collaborating with Information System Security Managers (ISSM), Information System Security Officers (ISSO) and Facility Security Officers (FSO).
This is a mission-critical position requiring a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safeguarding classified information. All duties must be performed onsite.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
System Setup and Configuration:
o Design, deploy, and configure secure IT systems, networks, workstations and Cloud enclaves in accordance with DAAPM and NIST SP 800-53 requirements.
o Establish and maintain baseline configurations for hardware, software, and network components.
o Implement and validate Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls and system hardening measures.
End-User Support:
o Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to DoD personnel, troubleshooting hardware, software, Cloud and network issues.
o Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls, ensuring compliance with DoD security policies.
o Create and deliver training or documentation to enhance end-user efficiency and security awareness.
Security Collaboration:
o Partner with the ISSM and ISSOs to integrate security into the RMF processes, supporting Authorization to Operate (ATO) efforts.
o Report and respond to security incidents or anomalies in coordination with the security team.
Operations and Maintenance:
o Perform routine system maintenance, including patch management, updates, and secure backups, per DAAPM and NIST SP 800-53 guidelines.
o Monitor system performance and security logs, proactively addressing issues to maintain operational integrity.
o Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Compliance and Security:
o Ensure all activities adhere to DAAPM, NIST SP 800-53 and DoD-specific directives.
o Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified and sensitive data.
o Respond to evolving security requirements and support incident mitigation as needed. Maintain information systems compliance.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
Security Clearance: Secret
Certifications: DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 minimum compliant certification
Experience:
o At least 3 years of system administration experience
o At least 2 years of Cloud (preferably Azure) administration experience
Technical Skills:
o Experience with network administration, security tools (e.g., ACAS, STIGs, Splunk, SCC) and system hardening.
o Proficiency in configuring and managing secure Windows environments.
o Proficiency in administrating Cloud environments.
Availability: Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ
Education: Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or related field

Experience:
o Prior work with DAAG and NIST SP 800-53 standards or in a defense contracting environment.
o High level Windows system administration – Windows 10 & 11

Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Must work onsite at secure facilities in Phoenix, AZ.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., for hardware setup) and sit/stand for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a high-security environment with strict access controls and protocols
